How were you with money, growing up? Were you educated about money? Was money talked about? Or was it hidden? Ignored and a topic that was avoided?

Money can be a touchy subject. Talking about it often makes people uncomfortable. There are so many points of view about money: having money, not having money, how much is good, how much is too much, what it should be spent on, what is shouldn’t be spent on…the list of opinions on money is endless. So rather than having an honest look at our money situation, what it is and what we would like it to be, a lot of us end up avoiding the topic completely. Which, you may have noticed, doesn’t work in your favor because you can’t change something if you aren’t willing to look at it. On the flip side, if you are willing to be aware of your money and your finances you can change it.

Would you consider approaching the subject of money from a different perspective? Would you be willing to be curious, questioning and playful with money? Regardless of what you currently believe about money, regardless of the perspectives and opinions of others that you may have bought into, you can get out of debt and increase your finances.

Here are my top 3 tips on how:

Choose another perspective

If you desire to get out of debt, you have to be willing to change everything you have decided about money because what you’ve decided about money creates your experience with money. For example, if you have decided that you have to work hard for money, your experience will match that and you will work hard for every dollar that comes in.

What if money could come to you easily? What if you were able to receive money from many places? What points of view about money would you have to lose in order have more money – with ease?

To change your points of view about money, try this. For every point of view that you notice, say, “Interesting point of view, I have that point of view.” As you say this, you will notice that everything you’ve decided about money loses its significance and becomes simply interesting. And when it’s simply interesting, you are free to choose another perspective.

Ask questions that invite money

Most of us make statements about money. Few of us ask questions. And, if you desire to get out of debt and change your money situation, you have to ask questions. Questions are the invitation to receive, which allows money to show up. If you do not ask, you cannot receive.

There is a “Golden Key” when it comes to asking questions that you need to be aware of: true question is not about getting an answer, or about right or wrong. It is about opening up to the energy of a different possibility.

Here are some questions you can use to invite more money into your life:

  • What else is possible that I have not yet asked for?

  • If I was choosing my financial reality, what would I choose?

  • What would I like my financial reality to be like?
  • What can I be or do different today, to generate more money right away?

  • What can I put my attention on today that will increase my money in flows?

  • What action can I do today to change my financial reality?

Do What You Love

Money follows joy. Not the other way around. Getting out of debt begins with choosing joy – now, regardless of your current situation. If you looked at your current life as a party, what kind of invitation would it be to money?
What if you started living your life as the celebration it can be, today? What if you did not wait for the money to show up?

Have a look at what you love to do. Make list. Keep adding to that list. Now start to do those things. Every day. When you do what you love, your joy increases, it changes the energy of your life and changing the energy of your life to joy and celebration invites money to the party.

Regardless of your current money situation, regardless of the beliefs around money that you have adopted from your parents, friends, society or anyone else, you can get out of debt and you can start today. Be willing to let go of the beliefs of others that are limiting you. Choose to live joyfully now. Ask the questions that invite money into your life.

Commit to your life. Commit to changing your financial reality. Daily put these tools into practice. A new financial reality is available for you.
