It all started with a $350,000 investment in the Dollar Shave Club, a company that recently sold for $1 billion. Today, Kirsten Green runs an all-women venture capital firm that specializes in e-commerce investments.
Along with backing the Dollar Shave Club, Kirsten’s firm, Forerunner Ventures, was also the main backer of Jet.com. Over the years, Green has raised over $250 million from top investors and has invested in more than 40 start-ups.
Before her days as the head of Forerunner Ventures, Kirsten was an equity research assistant and investor at Banc of America Securities. In an interview with Pando, Kirsten said that her biggest strength was being able to connect and build relationships with people. She also believes that her feminine traits are one of her differentiators in the business world.
Green recently won the VC of the year award at the 10th Annual Crunchies, an award ceremony that honors and celebrates the most exciting innovations in the internet and technology sector.
